 The Library Program
Immaculate Conception has two
complete Libraries. One serves the primary grades, and the other serves
the upper grades of the School. Reading is a main component in our
educational curriculum. The Library has over 5,000 books available. The
Library Program was recently upgraded with many new books and equipment
through a grant from Library Connections.
The Library program is also well integrated into our Computer
Technology Program. This means we have established a cooperative
learning environment between the Classroom teacher, The Computer
Teacher, and the Librarian. The Libraries have computers with internet
access, and a computerized card catalogue system. This enhances the
education of students by employing the use of technology, software
programs, and the internet in the library. We believe that the internet
becomes the Library of Libraries by opening the world of global
information to our students. The student use of the internet in the
Library is monitored and firewall protected.
