Immaculate Conception Catholic Elementary School opened in 1950. It has provided a quality Catholic Education for more than 58 years to students in the Northeast Bronx.
The school is presently staffed by fourteen Religious Sisters and a dedicated faculty. The school offers students a program that fosters growth Spiritually, Academically, and Morally. While the academic program is rigorous, it prepares students to meet the present and future challenges of the world.
Immaculate Conception believes that every child is important, and every child should have the opportunity to succeed. The school offers a full curriculum from Early Childhood - Pre Kindergarten - Kindergarten to Grade Eight. The school focuses on the building of character as well as academic excellence. The students of today are the leaders of tomorrow.
The School's Successful Educational Program
The Catholic Faith and Christian Moral Values are taught at every grade level. The academic program at Immaculate Conception stresses skills in reading and math , history, social studies and science.
The school maintains two libraries with Computers and internet access, as well as a Computer lab with a state of the art program in Technology. There are Computers and internet access in every classroom . A recently installed science lab also has Computers and internet. The school boasts of a wonderfully developed music program, an exciting art program, and a good physical education program. There are also a variety of after school programs and tutoring programs available.
More than 95% of our graduates are accepted into the top Catholic High Schools of the Archdiocese or Charter High Schools in the city of New York.
A Safe Playground Area For The Children
Immaculate Conception has a newly built enclosed outdoor playground for the safety of the Children. A beautifully tree line playground area offers space for the children to play and relax during recess and after lunch. The play area is always supervised by members of the school staff. The playground area was accomplished thought the generosity of the Patron's Board of Immaculate Conception School and is dedicated in memorial of Joseph and Josephine Gabelli.
